U.S. Figure Skating has selected Portland to host this Olympic-style international figure skating event featuring ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dancing competitions. The event annually attracts more than 60 world-class figure skaters. Events continue Thursday through Sunday at the Rose Garden. 2010 Skate America

The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum is hosting Girl Scout Day Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Girl Scouts who wear a piece of their uniform will receive a discount on museum admission to see the biggest wooden airplane ever built, the fastest jet in the world and a simulated rocket launch. Circle in the Square
Circle in the Square: a celebration with Chris Dudley and Terry Porter on World Diabetes Day will give people a chance to talk with diabetes experts and be screened. Honor Flight for five local veterans
CFive Oregon veterans are honored with a TLC (Their Last Chance) trip on Honor Flight. Four are WWII vets, one is a Vietnam vet. Two are from Portland, one is from Wilsonville, one is from Milwaukie and one is from Grants Pass. The Honor Flight will land in Portland at 1:40 p.m. The veterans will come into one of the C gates and be escorted by the Junior Reserve Officer Training Core. Then the colorful Patriot Guard Riders will escort them to Baggage Claim 4, where friends and family will be there to greet them with American flags and "Welcome Home" signs. Honor Flight of Oregon
