WEST LINN, Ore. -- It was 1975 when the first 'Street of Dreams' paved the way for local home builders to showcase the latest in design and best in building practices.

Now 37 years later, though the ups and downs of the economy ,this year home builders are once again excited to roll out the welcome mat for this years NW Natural Street of Dreams.

"This feels like the Street of Dreams of old," said Home Builders Association CEO Dave Nielsen.

The show puts the spotlight on area builders and their craftsmanship. This year's show is in West Linn at The Vineyard.

Each home is distinctive. Seven builders put their own stamps on each project to create more than a home: An atmosphere, a feeling, something unique.

All the homes are Earth Advantage certified, energy efficient. One home is sold. The homes range from $950,000 to $1.3 million.

After a few years of struggling, Nielsen says the market is back and lenders--for the most part--are also back in the game.

"They thought the site was outstanding, they thought the market was about to ready to come back in West Linn, and so they really saw great opportunity here," he said.

"I think this show represents the beginning of a recovery for the home building market, "said Kelly Ritz, President of Stone Bridge Homes NW.

The Street of Dreams runs July 27th-August 26th.
