PORTLAND -- Heavy snow has ended, but recent storms left behind more than a foot of snow on Mt. Hood Saturday morning.
Skibowl reported 12 inches of new snow from Friday morning to Saturday morning, and Timberline and Mt, Hood Meadows each reported 16 inches.

Traffic on the way to Mt. Hood was congested Saturday morning on Highways 26 and 35, and the Oregon Dept. of Transportation warned drivers to expect a one hour delay. ODOT announced Friday that chains were required on mountain passes.

Road conditions were expected to improve as temperatures rose Saturday and Sunday. A mix of clouds and sun was expected in the Portland metro area throughout the weekend.
