PORTLAND – Organizers estimated more than 30,000 participants attended the 34th annualPortland Shamrock Run Sunday.
The race included five different events: a 15K challenge, an 8K race, the 1K "Leprechaun Lap" for kids, a 5K run and the “Shamrock Stride,” for walkers only.
All events started at the corner of SW Naito Parkway and SW Pine Street. All events ended at SW Naito and SW Taylor Street, except the Leprechaun Lap.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation.
The Shamrock run is the second-largest running event in Portland, after the Komen Race for the Cure.
