STAYTON - Eating alligator this weekend could help save animals.

This weekend the grand opening of Monster Foods in Stayton will have treats for all as they also celebrate the opening of the wildlife habitat A Walk on the Wild Side.

It happens Saturday at the store on 1008 N 1st Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

They'll be offering "state fair treats" like corn dogs and burgers, with free curly fries and cotton candy for kids.

The menu also features game and exotic meats like alligator sausage, frog legs and elk, venison and buffalo burgers.

The Walk on the Wild Side animal caretakers will be on hand with Amari the baby lion cub and Mariah the wallaby.
