HILLSBORO, Ore. -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office is doing something extra to try and ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters this Halloween.

The sheriff’s office will be giving away 500 free blinking safety lights for little ghosts and goblins to wear on their costumes.

People interested in getting one of the lights can drop by either the west or the east precincts between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, October 27-29, until supplies run out.

The West Precinct is located at 215 SW Adams Avenue, in Hillsboro and the East Precinct is located at 3700 SW Murray Boulevard, in Beaverton.

For more information, visit the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Web site or call (503) 846-2579.
