PORTLAND -- A new food cart pod tailored to bicyclists had its grand opening in Southeast Portland this weekend.

Cartlandia is located on SE 82nd Avenue, near the Springwater Corridor Bike Trail. It features 11 different food carts, convenient bike racks, and a professional bike repair shop.

Cart owners said the "superpod" has gone beyond bike friendly and become a Mecca for cyclists.

"Now biking clubs are starting to make this their destination because we’re so bike friendly," said Rock House Grill's James Knight. "They’re coming from Lake O and Gresham and meeting in the middle."

Food choices range from Southern home cooking and seafood to ice cream and coffee shops.

The grand opening doubled as a benefit for the Franklin High girls volleyball team and a nonprofit called Project Access Now.
