12:43 PM PDT on Friday, October 5, 2007
MEDFORD, Ore. -- A former Medford resident and her fiancé got married on NBC's "Today Show" Friday in front of millions of television viewers.
The young couple was selected by 'Today Show' viewers to get the lavish, Martha Stewart-designed wedding.
The bride, 23-year-old Jessica Maple, asked her hometown minister of Medford to perform the ceremony at Rockefeller Center. Bob Larson is a retired senior pastor from Medford's Ascension Lutheran Church.
Maple and her new husband, Cody Helgeson, traded in their $5,000 home-style wedding for a more than half-million-dollar television production after being selected from more than 10,000 entrants.

Struggling students, the couple would not have been able to afford a fancy wedding had it not been for the 'Today Show.'

In addition to choosing the couple, TV viewers chose Maple’s dress, the rings, the couple’s cake, honeymoon destination and many other wedding details.
Maple and Helgeson currently live in Mesa, Arizona where they attend college.
