PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portlanders get ready to bite.

The area's annual summer celebration of food known as the Bite of Oregon runs through Sunday at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

The Bite of Oregon returns to the waterfront in downtown Portland this weekend.

In addition to a broad palette of tastes from Oregon restaurants, a slew of microbreweries and NW wineries will be serving up some of the finest and newest locally crafted beverages.

Then there’s the music!

On Friday, for 8-8-08, Portland ska-rockers Crazy 8s performed.

On Saturday, the Portland Cello Project and Courtney Jones will smooth out the afternoon, and host Shel Baily will introduce a whole lineup of local Women Who Rock, including Lisa and Kate Mann, Beth Willis, Pilar French and Reina Collins.

Sunday’s soul picnic hosts the bayou New Orleans sounds of Charmaind Neville.

Later, Portland’s lounge swinger Tony Starlight hits the main stage.

The Bite runs Saturday 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m..

Admission is $7 for adults, and free for kids 12 and under.

You can also get in free Sunday with a Providence Bridge Pedal bib or bracelet. And discounts were also available for Oregon Air Show attendees.
