Labor Day rafting trip mixes wine and whitewater

MERLIN, Ore. — Rogue Wilderness Adventures is teaming up with Walla Walla Vintners Labor Day weekend to host a journey that includes award-winning wine and whitewater rafting.

From Merlin, Ore., rafters will float through the wild and scenic Rogue River canyon, a secluded area that can only be accessed by foot and raft.
The first night, guests will dine on freshly-caught Rogue River Salmon that is notable in the area and sleep in tents along the bank of the river.
The second night, visitors will enjoy the comforts of the historic Half Moon Bar Lodge with cabins for all participants.
Every evening during the trip, winemaker Myles Anderson will lead the group through lessons on the art of winemaking and the nuances of wine tasting.
Trip size is limited to only 20 guests, so participants are urged to book in advance.
The dates are Friday August 29 to Sunday August 31. The cost is $899 per person plus government fees. For more information, contact Brad Niva at 541-479-9554.
