SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- With skateboarding legend Tony Hawk on their side, Springfield is going up against 13 other Springfields to land July's national premier showing of "The Simpsons Movie."

Hawk is in the four-minute video the city has entered in a competition by 20th Century Fox to promote its feature film based on the televised, animated and dysfunctional family, which lives in the fictional city of Springfield.

All 14 videos are expected to be posted by Monday at thesimpsons.usatoday.com.

Through July ninth, people can vote online.

Cameo references to Oregon, such as Portland street names, sometimes appear in "Simpsons" shows. Matt Groening, the Simpsons' creator, is an Oregon native.

The winning Springfield will host the movie's national premiere in late July, with 500 people getting free tickets.
