PORTLAND, Ore. – The Oregon Humane Society is looking for adoptive loving homes in a unique new way.

It’s called “Kitty Cat Speed Dating” and it’s happening Thursday night at OHS in Northeast Portland.

Visitors will be able to meet the cats and spend as much time as needed afterwards with their chosen feline.

"We're looking for people who want to make a commitment and bring a cat into their family,” OHS adoption overseer Sandy Farnsworth said. “We have over 100 cats at the shelter and they all need loving, permanent homes," said Sandy Farnsworth, who oversees adoptions at the Portland shelter.”

In addition to getting $35 off adoption fees, all of the cats are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. They also come with a microchip ID and one month of health insurance.

The event will feature complimentary food and beverages, romantic music and special care packages for all new owners, cat-themed art and sponsor pets.

Kitty Cat Speed Dating is presented by Purina ONE through their One Hope Network. With each adoption, adopters will receive a "goodie bag" with collapsible bowl, $12.95 coupon, a cat toy and Purina ONE cat brochure.

It’s from 6-8 p.m. at the OHS on 1067 NE Columbia Blvd.
