PORTLAND, Ore. -- The city will be opening all its outdoor pools to the public this holiday weekend.

Parks officials said several pools also have spray features to help everyone stay cool.

Portland’s Parks & Recreation Department also operates six indoor pools that are open year-round.

Free swimming lessons and free “open swim” days were offered to help kick off the summer season.

Friday, July 3rd:

*           Columbia Pool, open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

*           Creston Pool, open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

*           Dishman Pool, open regular schedule

*           East Portland Pool, open regular schedule

*           Grant Pool, weekend hours are 12 noon to 6 p.m.

*           Montavilla Pool, open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

*           Mt. Scott Pool, open regular schedule

*           Peninsula Pool, open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

*           Pier Pool, open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

*           Sellwood Pool, open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

*           Southwest Pool, open regular schedule

*           Wilson Pool, open 12 noon to 6 p.m.
