PORTLAND, Ore. -- Six months after the Woodburn Bank bombing, local police officers are hitting the gridiron in a game dedicated to the victims and their families.

Portland metro area law enforcement will challenge the semi-pro football team, the Blackshirts, in a flag football game on Saturday.

The game benefits the families of Oregon State Police Trooper William Hakim and Woodburn Police Capt. Tom Tennant, both of whom were killed in a bombing last December in Woodburn.

Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell, who was severely injured in the blast and only returned to work this week, will perform the opening coin toss.

The game will take place at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham. Tickets are $10 each and children under 11 are free and parking is available on NE 17th St., just east of NE Kane Rd.

More information is available by calling Portland Police Det. Scott Chamberlain at (503) 823-0832.
