They are, at least, the most knowledgeable when it comes to rules of the road, according to a new study.
GMAC Insurance tested more than 5,000 drivers in all 50 states and the Beaver State finished with a first place ranking. Washington state ranked second and Idaho tied for fourth. Drivers in the eastern states ranked least knowledgeable.
The questions came from state driving tests.
Drivers needed to answer at least 70 percent of the questions correctly to pass. Nationwide, nearly 91 percent of drivers surveyed passed, which is up about two percent from last year.
Only 76 percent of Washington D.C. and 75 percent of Rhode Island drivers passed. The latter ranked last.
