Kids marched in bands, rode on floats, cruised on bicycles, danced, and walked their pets - often decked out in costumes of their own - down the one-mile parade route on Sandy Blvd. The largest children's parade in the nation, the Fred Meyer Junior Parade draws more than 10,000 young stars cheered on by crowds of spectators as they wind through Portland's Hollywood District.
Many Portland-area elementary and middle school marching bands performed in this year’s parade. In addition, several dance, drill, and baton groups entertained the spectators, too.
