Mayor of Cannon Beach dies at age of 67

CANNON BEACH, Ore. -- The mayor of Cannon Beach died in a Portland hospital over the weekend, according to the Daily Astorian.

Mayor John Williams, 67, died on Friday.

He was a retired minister. His death was sudden and unexpected, colleagues told the Daily Astorian.

The newspaper reported that Williams contracted an infection and was put on life support.
