Foster families urgently needed for kittens and cats
12:54 PM PDT on Tuesday, May 13, 2008
SHERWOOD, Ore. -- The Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood urgently needs feline foster families for kittens and cats who need time to heal from an illness or injury, officials said Tuesday.
Currently the Cat Adoption Team has 75 kittens -- about 15 litters -- in need of foster homes.
Fostering for the Cat Adoption Team is an in-home volunteer opportunity. CAT provides in-depth training and support as well as a ‘baby bag’ full of items needed to help foster families be successful. Foster volunteers are teamed with experienced mentors for one-on-one guidance and assistance.
Foster volunteers enable CAT to save more lives by opening their homes to kittens who need time to grow to 2¼ pounds so they are strong and healthy for the shelter adoption kennels and shelter cats who are recovering from a surgery or treatable illness
“These kitties may spend a short time in your home; however, they will stay in your heart for a lifetime. Fostering is one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences offered,” said Kathy Covey, spokeswoman for CAT.
Anyone interested in becoming a foster volunteer can find out more by clicking here and then on 'foster.' Then call 503-925-8803 and leave a message in voicemail box 5.
