Skiers and snowboarders still craving snow will have the chance to get a few runs in for free this Sunday at Mt. Hood SkiBowl.

“Although we have record snow pack, we need to bring the winter season to a close in order to prepare for summer operation. Low skier participation and the extended weather forecast also played a role in our decision,” said Karen Norton, a SkiBowl spokeswoman.

“We typically open our Summer Adventure Park featuring over 20 attractions and Mountain Bike Park Memorial Day weekend. With the amount of snow currently on the ground we need to begin snow removal as soon as possible in an effort to meet the adjusted opening date of July 4, 2008,” she added.

SkiBowl’s final days of operation will be this Saturday and Sunday, May 10 & 11th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

On Sunday, May 10th, all lift tickets will be free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
