Mercy Corps Spokesman Jeremy Barnicle said they are accepting donations for Myanmar aid.
In addition, Mercy Corps is working on identifying partners who they can team up with who are already in Myanmar to distribute aid.
Barnicle said at this time Mercy Corps is not planning on sending crews to Myanmar, as they are not a registered aid agency there and this is why the organization is working to identify agencies they can team up with.
In addition, Medical Teams International, which also has Northwest ties, is preparing to send medical supplies, funds and possible volunteers to Myanmar. They are working with a partner agency in the Yangon region.
