Portland named 'platinum' bike-friendly city

Portland bicyclists got more props as one of the country’s biggest cycling groups gave the city a top rating.

The Bike League of America designated Portland a Platinum "Bicycle Friendly Community," for improving conditions for cyclists and safety.

Portland is the first large U.S. city to get the distinction. Davis, California, is the only other Platinum city in the country.
