I scream, you scream, we all scream for Free Cone Day
08:39 AM PDT on Wednesday, April 30, 2008
Ben & Jerry’s 30th Annual Free Cone Day is being celebrated around the country today, Tuesday, April 29th.
To mark the occasion, free cups and cones of your favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavors are being handed out between noon and 8pm at Ben & Jerry’s ScoopShops nationwide, including four locations in Portland.
Ben & Jerry’s ScoopShops in Southeast Portland at 36th & Hawthorne, in Northwest Portland on 23rd Place, and in the Pearl District at 301 NW 10th are participating. Also taking part is the Ben & Jerry’s PartnerShop in downtown Portland, a half block east of Pioneer Courthouse Square on SW Yamhill between 5th & 6th.
Ben & Jerry’s PartnerShops are unique in that they are owned and operated by nonprofit organizations. The Yamhill PartnerShop is owned and operated by New Avenues for Youth, with 100% of the proceeds from the store supporting the organization. New Avenues for Youth serves local homeless and at-risk teens, providing them with the skills necessary to succeed in the workforce and put life on the streets behind them for good.
More information about Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day, including a directory of ScoopShops worldwide, can be found at www.benjerry.com .
