KGW viewer Mike Preble, of Gladstone, shared this photo of a giant corn plant in his front yard, at 17330 Crownview Drive.
He said he doesn’t know anything about growing corn. First time he’s planted it. Wanted it for decoration. It just kept growing. Started from seed. Ordered off the internet – got about about 10 seeds. Planted them all – then just thinned to the first four that came up.
Gave them some nitrogen. Googled and could only find 14 feet tall reference for tallest corn.
Ladder is 12 feet. Measured at 20 feet. Didn’t get any corn from it.
