The night was perfect for star gazing and a road trip to Mount Saint Helens was just the place to be to catch the Milky Way. On this moonless night the stars had big competition from light pollution from Portland's city lights. When I turned around the Seattle Metro area was also competing with the northern portion of the Milky Way.
