PORTLAND – Last weekend’s spectacular weather brought a burst to the Rose Festival’s business, bouncing profits past projections so far.
Festival organizers said an estimated 250,000 people lined the Starlight Parade Route under terrific conditions Saturday night.
Plus, the CityFair was packed all weekend long under sunny skies.
“I was amazed at the crowds for the Starlight Parade. Some of the corners had 20 people deep. It could have been our largest Starlight ever. We don’t have specific attendance numbers but over a quarter million people could have been on the streets of Portland,” said Jeff Curtis with the Portland Rose Festival.

Navy ships will arrive on the seawall later this week and the Grand Floral Parade will fill Portland’s street with bright floats and bellowing bands on Saturday morning.
KGW's 7-day weather forecast calls for dry conditions through at Monday, with highs reaching the mid-70s.
