PORTLAND -- A tradition since 1907, the Portland Rose Festival has welcomed visiting ships, submarines and other vessels for Fleet week.
This year, due to budget cutbacks, the U.S. Navy will not be participating and the the U.S. Coast Guard will only be sending one cutter.

But the Royal Canadian Navy's HMCS Oriole will be on hand this year, along with a Vietnam-era river patrol boat, a PT boat and several others.
The Fleet Week ships will begin arriving in Portland on Monday, June 3. Many of the ships will be open for public tours daily, usually between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Admission will be free, on a first-come basis. The last of the ships will depart Portland on Monday, June 10.
