Alex is a student that has been identified with autism spectrum disorder. He faces challenges and struggles daily that make it difficult for him at school. In spite of those challenges, he seeks opportunities to help other students. He accompanies other students who feel anxious about walking to class.
He is quick to offer help and to show compassion even at times when other students treat him disrespectfully. Recently, he forgave another student who had been bullying him reminding us that everyone deserves a second chance. He is an outstanding person who is never too busy to help someone else. He has made a difference at Evergreen Middle School.
