Here is another great tutorial from my friend Thuy over at My Paper Pinwheel. Check it out and save those Summer memories:

Summertime is the perfect time for family vacations. I just recently got back from a week long trip to Terramar Beach and of course, like any mom of two little kids, I took a TON of pictures. Now that the vacation is over, I wanted a fun way to display some of my photos and cherish the moment. I actually planned ahead and packed with me a mason jar that I had from home so I would be ready to make my Memory Jar.

Supplies:

Any type of clear jar (preferably without any types of words on the outside)

Souvenirs from your vacation

One of your favorite photos

One toothpick

Directions:

I simply printed out one of my favorite photos of my youngest to a 3x5 and cut out his body and taped it to a toothpick. I had a jar filled with sand from my vacation spot but if you already went on your summer vacation and did not bring any sand home, you can purchase sand at Walmart in the craft section for $3.00 a bag.

If you are unable to find seashells, you can purchase a whole package of them in various shapes at the Dollar Tree.  So after I poured my sand in my jar, I simply placed my picture right in the middle, surrounded it with my shells and there, it is done! I also added a quick tag tied with baker’s twine with my vacation spot. If you went with other family members or a group of friends, this would make a great gift and would cost you less than $5.00!

Happy Memory Jar making, friends!
