Saving money on personal care products is one of the easiest and most rewarding aspect of strategic shopping. In fact, if you think about how much you spend on soap, shampoo, shaving cream, razors, etc you would be floored. If you only used coupons and shop strategically for these items in particular, you will save up to 50% on your grocery bill. Pretty amazing, right? Besides, who doesn't want a free razor?

5 Ways to ROCK the Savings at Drugstores:

1. Shop Around: It pays to actually visit multiple drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, etc each week. No time for that? At the very least, choose the best one and load up on deals. You'll find purchasing personal care items at drugstores is quite a bit cheaper than buying them at the grocery store or even Walmart.

2. Shop the Sales: Ok, following what I said above, your items will be cheaper IF you are shopping the sales and operating with some strategy. If you just walking into a Walgreens to pick up a razor, you'll easily be out $15. However, if you wait until it's on sale, you have a coupon AND you earn Register Rewards well, you could be shaving those pretty legs for FREE!

3. Use Manufacturer Coupons: Cut those personal care coupons from the paper! Drugstores have the best sales on shampoo, mouthwash, toothbrushes, etc and you'll need all the coupons you can get your hands on to make those deals even better.

4. Store Coupons: Most drugstores offer store coupons. For Walgreens, these can be found at the front of the store in the coupon booklets and also in the weekly ad. CVS allows you to scan your card for coupons at the red coupon machine inside the store. Store coupons can be COMBINED with manufacturer coupons. This is called 'stacking' and will easily give you double the savings.

5. Sign up for Rewards: Sign up for your own ExtraCare card from CVS and you'll earn ECBs (which can be used like cash in the store), coupons, rewards and more. You'll be addicted...just a warning. Walgreens has a new program called Balance Rewards. You can sign up and earn points from your purchases, then redeem those points for store rewards like $5 towards your next purchase. You can also earn what is called Register Rewards in the store as well. Grab your weekly ad to find out what items qualify, those Register Rewards {RRs} can be used like cash the next time you're in the store.

Drugstores are key to shopping smart and it makes for easy savings. Even if you don't coupon for groceries, you'll save a TON just by shopping smart and including a drugstore in your weekly trip! Check out the video featured this morning on News on 6, News 9 , KMOV, Kens5 and WGEM:
