GRESHAM, Ore --A Gresham mother of five has come up with a Thanksgiving menu that amounts to just $3 a person.
It’s well below the national average of $4.50 a serving.
“You want to focus on simple, in season ingredients and shop the discount stores like Grocery Outlet,” recommended Angela Davis.
She’s the woman behind the popular website Frugal Living Northwest.
“Turkey is a good bargain but at $1.00 to $1.50 a guest it will be the most expensive thing on my menu,” said Davis.
Her other menu items include Harvest Apple Stuffing at 49 cents a serving and Green Bean Casserole at 44 cents a person.
For dessert she relies on frozen pumpkin pie, “it costs just $3 a package and it tastes great,” she added.
Angela believes you can satisfy your guests for $3 a meal and thinks they might enjoy knowing how little you had to spend.
“Of course I’m going to brag about it! It’s an accomplishment,” she concluded with a laugh.
