Something to think about as you're celebrating Thanksgiving: If you go all out and enjoy heaping portions, you could end up consuming more than 4,000 calories.
But there are ways to counter those calories.
For example, a 5-ounce glass of wine is 120 calories; you would need to run 13 to 14 minutes to burn them off.
A half-cup serving of mashed potatoes and gravy is about 160 calories. A brisk 30-minute walk will erase that.
If you indulge in a slice of pumpkin pie with whipping cream, that’s an estimated 325 calories. It would take a 35- to 40-minute jog to wipe that out.
The easiest way to lighten the load: Just take smaller servings.
