New research suggests that melanoma is more deadly in children than in adults.

Scientists say young patients are more likely to have the disease spread beyond the tumor and had thicker tumors overall.

Tanning beds are linked to an increase in melanoma cases and up to ten percent of all customers are thought to be kids.

California's governor Jerry Brown recently signed a law banning children under 18 from using tanning beds.
