WASHINGTON, D.C. – Inventors of a new laser device claim it's the fastest in the world and can correct a person’s vision in just seconds.
The Wavelight Ex-500 has a laser beam shaped like a cylinder which delivers energy to both the center and outside of the cornea to maintain its normal shape.
The treatment is so quick and precise that it virtually eliminates the need for a return or touch-up procedure, according to the experts.
It also reduces the patient's risk of dry eye or seeing halos or glare at night.
Recovery is also dramatically shortened with the new procedure, from the traditional three months to just one or two weeks.
