HILLSBORO, Ore. -- People are no longer allowed to smoke e-cigarettes in Hillsboro parks.

The city council voted to ban them Tuesday night, as first reported in the Oregonian.

The new ban applies to all park property, including Ron Tonkin field where the Hillsboro Hops play.

City staff recommended the new rules, to remain consistent with Hillsboro's ban on tobacco products.
