PORTLAND -- Curbside composting begins in Portland Monday.
Food scraps can now go into the green yard debris can, which will be picked up every week. Regular garbage will be picked up every other week.
"It's a new change for people, it's a new habit, but we've been putting our food scraps into the garbage can already and it's really not that different,” said Julie Thompson with the City of Portland. “It's just putting it into a different container than it was before."
