LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) -- Cowlitz Indian tribal officials have announced their opposition to a proposed coal export terminal at Longview, Wash.

The tribe says increased coal shipments on trains and ships could threaten air and water quality along the Columbia River and harm fish.

The Daily News reports regulators plan five hearings to help plan the environmental review for the $643 million project.
