DUBLIN (AP) -- An Irish jury unanimously has found a former aide to U2 bassist Adam Clayton guilty of embezzlement. Carol Hawkins was found guilty on 181 counts in Dublin on Friday. Clayton says he hired her in the early 1990s and gave her access to his bank accounts so she could pay his household bills. Instead prosecutors say among her expenses were $24,000 on a flight for two from Dublin to Miami, $20,000 for a flight from London to Cincinnati and $550,000 on 22 racehorses. Clayton testified he has no interest in horses or gambling. She had claimed Clayton either authorized the expenses or she had paid him back by picking up his bills herself.
