WASHINGTON (AP) -- She has plotted it out , seeded it, and watched it grow into a worldwide phenomenon. And now, first lady Michelle Obama has written a book about her White House garden. The 271-page book is titled: "American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America," and in it, Mrs. Obama says the vegetable beds on the South Lawn are an expression of her hopes for the nation's children. The book includes details about the garden's successes and failures, as well as tips on how to create a similar garden at home. The first lady has done a series of media appearances to promote the book.
