JENNIFER HUDSON: SHE'S A "SAVE"-IOR?
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Longtime fans of "American Idol" may know the judges' "save" rule is sometimes called the Jennifer Hudson Rule -- because it was put in after Hudson was voted off the show -- prematurely many felt. Turns out the rule has even more of a link to Hudson. It also applies to times she's been on the show as a musical guest. It happened again this past Thursday, when Hudson sang. Jessica Sanchez was voted off -- but the judges used their save. Last year when Hudson performed, Casey Abrams was the low vote getter -- and the judges kept him on, too. It also happened again two years before that. The only exception to the rule is when Michael Lynche was saved in season 9. Hudson didn't perform that season.
