MICHAEL JACKSON: DOCTOR ASKS TO BE RELEASED, PENDING APPEAL
Credit: AP
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The doctor convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson's death is asking to be set free while he appeals his case. Dr. Conrad Murray says he should be let out on his own recognizance -- or be set free on bail with electronic monitoring. Murray was sentenced to a four-year jail sentence after his conviction on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death. Murray claims he isn't a danger to society, won't flee the area -- and wants to work to help support his seven children. A hearing on Murray's motion to go free, pending appeal, is set for late next month.
