Actor Andy Griffith, best known for his television roles as Sheriff Andy Taylor in “The Andy Griffith Show,” and on “Matlock,” died Tuesday at 86, reports state.
According to MSNBC, Bill Friday, former president of the University of North Carolina and a friend of Griffith, confirmed the death to North Carolina television station WITN.
