is a wellness studio, located in Portland's Pearl District, designed for healing and relaxation through Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Watch Drew Carney undergo some early morning acupuncture treatments during the 08/25/08 edition of Newschannel 8 at Sunrise.

Jana Moore Capristo is the licensed acupuncturist behind Moore Acupuncture. She provides a variety of services at her studio that include:

Acupuncture: a 3,000 year-old Chinese tradition of medicine where very fine needles are inserted into specific points along the body to help promote and maintain the smooth flow of Qi (energy) and blood and to restore balance.

Cupping Massage: the gentle application of glass cups that are placed on the skin to create a vacuum-like suction, either in a stationary or moving position. It is a very non-invasive relaxing way to soften areas of muscle tension, increase circulation, release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, and is even effective in treating cellulite.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture: an ancient technique that is used as an alternative to cosmetic surgery or botox to promote aging gracefully. Although traditionally used as an alternative, this therapy may also be used to help prolong post-botox or surgical results, and even aid in the healing of them.

Electro-Acupuncture: the application of an electric current to acupuncture needles as a means of stimulating points.

Tui-na Massage/Acupressure: Tui-na, literally translated as "push-pull", is a Chinese modality using a variety of hand techniques and passive and active stretching to restore anatomical musculoskeletal relationships, correct neuromuscular relationships, and to increase circulation of Qi and blood.

Detox (Auricular) Acupuncture: involves the insertion of needles into the outer ear to aid in the process of detoxification of any kind. A series of 10 treatments are highly recommended to be successful.

Moore Acupuncture's new studio can be found at 1306 NW Hoyt Street, Suite 304, in the heart of the Pearl District.
