SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — The University of California, Santa Barbara is urging people on campus to watch out for signs of meningitis after two students were diagnosed with meningococcal disease.

The university said Monday that health officials were investigating the cases, and have not identified any connection with an outbreak at Princeton University that has sickened seven people.

They were also identifying people who had close contact with the ill students and providing preventive antibiotics to them.

Meningitis symptoms can include fever, headache, a rash, body aches and nausea.
