PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland Public Schools and the teachers' union remain far apart on a contract after 150 days of negotiations.
KGW reports (http://bit.ly/1f0sykp) the school district said Monday it would ask for a state mediator if there is no progress in three days of talks next week.
The Portland Association of Teachers wants an 11 percent pay increase over two years. The district has offered 2 percent.
