PORTLAND -- Hundreds of West Highland Terriers took to the streets of Northwest Portland to benefit a good cause.
Westie Walk 2010 kicked off at 10 a.m. at Wallace Park, located at NW 25th and Raleigh. DoveLewis said some 200 dogs participated in this year's event. The Westie Walk has been held for the past 12 years.
"Westies have a lot of personality," said DoveLewis spokeswoman Tiffini Mueller. "Once you have one, you get stuck to them."
Proceeds from the 1½ mile walk benefit DoveLewis' Velvet Assistance Fund.
