PORTLAND - The Oregon Humane Society said it was ready to adopt out more than 40 shar pei dogs rescued from a breeder in Goldendale, Washington last week.
OHS hoped to make as many of the rescued dogs as possible available for adoption on May 10.
The breed is known for its distinctive wrinkled skin, and many the dogs have skin and eye infections that appear to have gone untreated for weeks or months, OHS vets said.
Some of the animals may need long-term care to recover from infections.
You can make online donations to support the rescued dogs at OHS.
