BEND, Ore. – Detectives are trying to unravel a mystery about a miniature pig found wandering near Bend Wednesday.

The animal is a miniature breed, but you might not know that from first glance, since it weighs more than 220 pounds.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find the owner and reunite the little (big) piggy with its loved ones.

The pig was found in the Long Butte area, northeast of Tumalo between Highway 97 and the Old Bend-Redmond Highway on Tuesday.

Anyone who has information about its owner can call the non-emergency dispatch line at 541-693-6911 and reference CAD# 14-060229.

Anyone who claims to own the pig, will have to give additional descriptive information on the animal, to prove it is truly theirs.

The pig is currently being cared for at the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office’s Large Animal Rescue facility in Bend.
