PORTLAND -- An orphaned black bear cub found by a Medford family now has a new home.

The family that found Aldo realized they couldn’t properly care for a bear cub, so they called the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, which then called Oregon Zoo keeper Michelle Schireman on her day off.

Schireman, who often looks after orphaned cougar cubs, took over care of the little bear. She even took him home at night, according to the zoo’s Hova Najarian.

The zoo's black bear exhibit was full, so keepers found a place for Aldo at a Wisconsin Zoo.
