PORTLAND – Multnomah County Animal Control took a snake into custody after someone found it on a downtown street Thursday morning.
Portland police said a caller reported the 3-foot-long brown and tan snake "looked scared." Officers and a passerby were able to get the snake into a plastic tub.
Police said they did not know where then snake came from and that it was “clearly not native to downtown Portland.”
