PORTLAND -- Elephants at the Oregon Zoo demolished some of the area's largest pumpkin's Friday in the zoo's annual "Squishing of the Squash" event.

At 10:30 a.m., the zoo's Asian elephant herd got a chance to smash, play with, munch on, and roll around in a 700-pound pumpkin.
Packy, the zoo's most famous resident, got a giant pumpkin of his own in the back sandyard of the elephant habitat.
The pumpkins were provided by Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers and the event is a precursor to the zoo's Howloween Celebration.
